first_imgzoom Navios Maritime Partners L.P. an owner and operator of dry cargo vessels, announced yesterday that the Navios Harmony, a 2006-built panamax vessel of 82,790 dwt, was delivered to Navios Partners’ owned fleet on October 11, 2013.The Navios Harmony has been chartered out to a high quality counterparty for four to six months at a rate of $14,725 net per day. Government to compensate victimised journalists

The Government has decided to compensate journalists threatened or victimised in the past, the Xinhua news agency reported. President Maithripala Sirisena has appointed a committee to study proposals on steps to be taken to compensate journalists harassed or victimised in other ways from 2005 to 2015. A report in 2015 found that journalists in Sri Lanka and India were among the most vulnerable in South Asia because attackers generally go scot-free.Over 20 Sri Lankan journalists had gone into exile between June 2008 to May 2013, according to reports. The Government information department said that the Foreign Minister, the Media Minister and the Justice Minister will make recommendations on the steps to be taken to provide relief to the harassed journalists. Several journalists had been killed or attacked between 2005 and 2015 in Sri Lanka.The United Nations has called on the Sri Lankan government to investigate killings of journalists. read more
