Juventus legend Marchisio ends his 25-year association with Serie A giants

All the time.”center_img Claudio Marchisio has left Juventus, closing the door on a glittering 25-year association with the Serie A giants.The midfielder, who has also played 55 times for the Italian national team, will move on to pastures new after both parties agreed to the termination of the 32-year-old’s contract, which was due to expire in 2020. In a tribute to Marchisio on the club’s website it read: “Twenty-five years have passed since Claudio put on the black and white shirt for the very first time.“He was aged just seven with a mad desire to play for his hometown club and a head full of dreams.“It will be a pleasure to keep following him, whichever shirt he will wear in the future.” Marchisio played 389 times for the Bianconeri, winning seven league titles and four Coppa Italias.The Turin-born player, who suffered a serious knee injury in April 2016 – which consequently him out for six months – made 20 appearances last season.It is believed Marchisio has multiple offers from overseas, including several from the MLS – most notably Montreal Impact.last_img read more
